“Our mission in Key West was to finish all 3 races and be in the top 3 overall” — AutoNation / Racing for Cancer Offshore Racing Fullfills Goal Of Top-3 Finish In Key West: Mission accomplished!! We did have our share of set backs, including a engine failure on the stbd side at the very end of Race #1. My crew Jay Meyer, Craig Chiddenton, and Cabe Regenerus and the guys from Ilmor worked hard to remove the damaged engine and install our spare engine. Thankfully we had a spare, as we had a similar engine failure last year that put us out of the Sunday double points race. With minimal test time, we were able to finish the Friday race, but not without sustaining some structural damage we received when Team Warpaint and Racing For Cancer had small “altercation” at the start of the race!
